Pardon my ignorance, I am new to the Forum and saw this discussion. Waht is a LUD and how do i find out what is on my pending I-485 petition.

you will be able to see the last action on a case.
You can also create a portfolio, save all your pending receipts under a username.

If AP is approved. You can travel out of country, Your husband can send it later to you.
But if AP document somehow missed in mail or never reaceived. Thats the problem.

I have seen people talking about getting approvals with misdemeanors, but each case may be different. Murthy.com forums has a special section for people dealing with misdemeanor issues and have gone through the process, may be you will get some more tips about preparing for the interview there. 2. Rent a one way van in New York.
3. Drive cross country with family and have fun. Meet all my friends on the way.
4. Return the van in San Francisco, take one way ticket to India.
5. Start a fresh life in India, free of immigration woes.
6. May be use I-485 receipt in Air India toilet on the way home (might hurt a bit but that is OK).

You will not get another 6 months, if you go anywhere in North America.
You need to go Europe or Asia.
Extension is no longer allowed. It was allowed 2 years back.
Only way is to go out to India, or apply extension with USCIS.
So Let me get this clear in my head..

I have an Olympus C2100 Ultrazoom. The real focal length of the lens is given as 7mm to 70mm (38mm to 380mm on 35mm equiv). When I operate the zoom lever, a bar appears in the viewfinder with T at the top and W at the bottom. Can I assume that this scale will be linear in terms of the focal length ie if the number of steps between W and T is 30, would each step increase the focal length by 63/30 mm (=(70-7)/30)? This would,however, mean that my standard 50mm equivalent focal length would be only one step up from the W end of the scale, which does not ring true. In which case, is there an easy way to 'calibrate ' this scale?

First, I don't know, and the details probably differs from camera to camera. However, my guess is that the zooming action is not linear. More likely the "steps" are larger at the tele end as each millimeter of focal length counts for more at the wide end.
As to calibration... maybe set up a scale on a wall, look at it at 7mm and mark the edges. Zoom in until you see half the width (which corresponds to twice the focal length - 14mm) and look at the focusing indicator what's shown. Zoom in again to show 50% of the last view, 28mm... etc.

To whom they tried to deliver....basically its PO box..no signature required for PO boxes.
In real practice, they leave a note in PO Box. After reading note, that something is for you, you need to stand in Q, sign it and receive it.
I think, USCIS is also undergoing same thing. Post Office must be putting notes in boxes. Due to high volume, signing part must be getting delayed.
Accordingly Post Office must be putting on-line status as attemped to deliver.
I never ask for Signature Confirmation on PO Box. Delivery Confirmation is enough.

In employment-based immigration, an I140 is an immigrant petition according to the law. So most likely INS will determinate one must work for 3 years before the I140 is filed. Many people think that an immigrant petition means filing for I485, but I don't think that the case. I140 is the immigrant petition.

As both your I 140 are approved, I do not see any major problem. any wasy you are planning to use AC21. Why dont you use your attorney, in that way you can feel secure. If I 140 approved + 180 days from receipt date you should be fine.
But I would advice you to take any expert opinion. But use your own lawyer and I believe you will do fine

Following up on my original post, NRIs flying in to India from swine flu-affected countries are not only being screened at the airports, teams of doctors are even going to their homes (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Swine-flu-reaches-India/articleshow/4465683.cms) to do additional check-ups. According to your post, according to the agreement between you and company A, you need to pay $2 per hour until the project ends. Why did you stop paying after 4 months of his cut. I guess the project is still going rt. So Company A wants to make sure that project ended. Company A is right. If your project is still going, you need to pay him $2 per hour until it ends.

my lawyer missed the 2nd july deadline even when he had all the papers. Now i am asking him to meet 30th july deadline he is not responding . what are the papers needed to file I485. Can I file it without lawyers help? He does have my immunization papers
Do it yourself man.These lawyers are God sent.I know lot of lawyer victimes , who sent their applications a month in advance and they sent to USCIS on 2nd July and these were the folks whose date became current in June.

I just thought of sharing this update on my case for the benefit all those whose apps were received by J Barrett at NSC.
My checks got cashed last night. The details are below:
Received by J Barrett at 10:25 AM at NSC
Case was transferred to CSC and back of our checks show receipt #s as WACXXX
I had an LUD on my approved I-140 on 7/28/07
My I-140 was approved from TSC in May 2006
My PD is Jan 2006; EB2-India
